Did you know that 600 children in Spencer County, Kentucky, are food insecure and at risk of going hungry? These kids rely on their school’s free and reduced-price meal program to provide the nourishment they need to learn and grow. But what happens when school closes its doors on Friday?

Who will feed the kids this weekend? We will!

Blessings in a Backpack Taylorsville KY

The Blessings in a Backpack program at Spencer County Early Learning Center in Taylorsville provides food on weekends for school-aged children who might otherwise go hungry.

Supported by the Salt River Animal Hospital in Taylorsville, the Blessings program ensures that kids in our community do not go hungry over the weekend. We fill kids’ backpacks with kid-friendly, satisfying, and nutritious food every Friday. With your support, we are closing the weekend hunger gap for 25 food-insecure kids in Taylorsville.
